How to Resolve the Blinking Issue in PlayStation Controller

I use the PS4 Console, sometimes weirdly i see my controller is blinking or flashing when i try to connect the controller to PlayStation Console. I’ll explain what worked for me in fixing the flashing issue and explain other possible reasons which resolved

Charge the Controller:

Make sure you have enough charge to connect your controller to PS4, this could be a possible reason, your controller does not have enough charge and clicking the PS button will show you the flashing if there is not enough charge or your controller is not charged. The blinking also indicates the battery is low in the controller.

Reset the Controller – This Worked for me :

  • You can see a small reset button on the back of the controller near the L2 button.
  • Use a small pin or paperclip to press and hold the reset button for a few seconds and release.
  • Now for the next step make sure you have the PS4 USB cable which you use to charge the controller, try connecting the Controller to PS4 using the USB cable after resetting.

Pairing the Controller

  • Connect the controller to the PS4 using a USB cable.
  • Press the PS button on the controller to turn it on.
  • Go to the PS4 Settings> Devices > Bluetooth Devices. This will show you all the connected devices or existing controllers.
  • Select the existing controller connected device from the list and choose Forget Device. By this step you can again set up the controller fresh again.
  • Unplug the USB cable and try pairing the controller again by pressing the PS button.
  • Now unplug the USB cable and Press the PS button to pair the controller, this should work in many cases for the blinking or flashing issues.

PS4 update:

  • This seems like a legit issue sometime when your PS4 console asks us to update the software, this could be a possible reason some glitches happen after the update. Try resetting the console

Hardware Issues:

  • Make sure you are using the original USB and cables to connect the controllers for charge, sometimes first copy devices can corrupt the controller.
  • If possible, try using the controller on another PS4 console to see if the issue persists.

Other recommendation

  • Contact the PlayStation Customer care they can help you step by step and also provide you different solutions. Also they can maximum identify the issue if its problem with the controller or the console is not accepting the Controller.
  • If you are under warranty carry your controller to a nearby service center you can get it fixed.

Thanks! Enjoy!.
